Nando’s Offers Up-And-Coming Aussie Musicians A Golden Opportunity…

Six Melbourne music students from JMC Academy are going from recording in their bedrooms to recording at London’s Roundhouse Studios, after earning a place on the Nando’s Global Music Exchange programme.

As part of the exchange, the group will spend a day and half sharing, learning and creating with their contemporaries from the UK and South Africa, and ultimately produce a track together.

We had a quick chat with Zoe Marshall, one of the selected artists, before she jetted off overseas…
You’re one of six students heading to The Roundhouse Studios in London, thanks to Nando’s Global Music Exchange Program. How does it feel?

I feel flattered and honoured to have been chosen! The Nando’s Global Music Exchange will be a great experience and a chance to learn new skills.  I’m most excited about the friendships I’ll able to make which will hopefully last a lifetime.

Tell us a bit about what you’re heading over there to do.

We’re heading to London to collaborate as a group and share influences. We’ll be producing a brand new track together and I’m hoping to contribute some catchy pop lines. It will also be interesting to blend our different genres together.
What are you hoping to learn/gain from this once in a lifetime experience?
I’d really like to learn more about the production side of making music. I’m hoping the mentors will share their top tips and show us how to use the software.

How would you describe your style of music?

My style of music is mainly electronic pop with R&B influences.

How long have you been studying with JMC Academy?

I have been studying with JMC Academy for six months, after finishing a Bachelor of Audio Engineering at SAE in Perth.

Where can we keep up to date with you online?
