So, it’s kind of perfect that until March 10, Flinders Street Station is hosting the ultimate 70th birthday celebration. For none other than Thomas and his friends. You know, Percy, Gordon, Edward, Emily, Luke, Annie, Clarabel, James…
Thomas & Friends™ has been a much loved character for generations of Australian boys and girls. I should know. I was one of them. Madly obsessed. And my son, almost two, is currently experiencing peak Thomas obsession levels. It’s marvellous.
To honour 70 years of friendship, friends of all ages are invited to join the celebrations from 5 March to 10 March, 2015, to visit the life-size replica Thomas cake (yes!) and take their photograph with the enormous creation.
Measuring over 3 metres long and 1.5 metres high, the bespoke cake is created by Christopher Montebello, founder of Melbourne bakery Let Them Eat Cake.
Limited edition Thomas & Friends™ products are available to purchase in the pop-up shop, located next to the cake, so fans can take home their own special memento of Thomas’ 70th birthday celebrations, plus be in with a chance to win an overseas holiday to visit their best friend Thomas.
