Australian company, LEKKER, has upgraded the popular 5-speed to a new 7-Speed version of their popular Jordaan vintage-look bicycle in a bid to make travelling by bike in Australia easier for customers.
To celebrate the launch of the Jordaan 7-Speed in late-June, the bicycle will be available in the standard LEKKER Black, Blue, Green and new Limited edition Fire Engine Red.
Making everyday travel via bike easier was the mission that had LEKKER founder, Meindert Wolfraad, wanting to start his business in Australia. “Australians often use bikes for exercise and then catch public transport or drive to work and their appointments,” the Dutch-born founder said.
“In Holland, cycling is a means of transportation and so I wanted to design and bring to Australia great, upward-seated bikes that Aussies could use to travel with everyday. Adding two extra speeds to the Jordaan makes riding this good-looking bike effortless.”
The Jordaan bicycle, previously a LEKKER favourite with its 5-Speeds, has proved popular with Australian riders – both amateur and seasoned – thanks to its maneuverable lightweight aluminum frame and easy-to-use grip shifter. The 46cm upright-seated frame suits riders from a height of 5”1, while the Dutch turnback handlebars, extra-wide deluxe spring saddle and leather-look ergonomic grips add to the aesthetic.
Tyres are extra large at 28”, and available in cream or brown. For ease of use bike has a rear coaster brake and tektro front brake with rust-free chain. Every bike has a colour-matched aluminum rear rack, aluminum fenders and chain. Front and rear LED lights and aluminum pedals complete the construction, finished up with a Dutch ‘Ding-Dong’ bell.
