In 2011 I’ve been learning when to say ‘no’. Not only when but also how to say it.
Saying ‘no’ is not always a negative thing.
More often than not it leads to greater opportunities; when you only accept quality that’s all you seem to receive. Others tend to give more when you don’t accept the first offer and, if not, you’re left with precious time on your hands.
Saying ‘no’ started as a necessity to (finally) find more balance with work, but I find it extending to my personal life in what I wear, how I spend my time, what I buy.
Saying no is simply about being more discerning…and also about recovering from a serious case of FOMO.
So here’s to 2012; a year of saying ‘yes’ – but only to things/people/causes that are truly worthwhile.
