Fancy a mid-week lunch that won’t break the bank? Melbourne’s favourite Japanese eating house is serving up mouth-watering Bento Boxes for just $29.50 a pop to spice up your work week. It’s the perfect excuse to ditch the homemade sandwich and step inside the fiery grill-driven eatery at 80 Collins Street.

TRY: Myrkl, The Hangover-Busting Capsule
Counter your hangovers by minimising its dreadful effects with Myrkl. Myrkl is a game-changing capsule set that allows for social drinking without the dreaded morning after.
It’s unique because it completely changes the way your body processes alcohol, working to stop your hangover before it even starts. The power-packed supplement is the first product in history shown by independent clinical trials to break down booze effectively in the gut before it reaches the liver.
I tried this on Saturday night, after enjoying a few too many pomegranate sours at Bar Jayda. I was fresh as a daisy on Sunday. I’ll try again on my next night out and report back, but so far consider me impressed.
VISIT: Alba Thermal Springs For Their Monthly High Tea
The team at Alba Thermal Springs & Spa understands indulgence is as vital to well-being as discipline, and that treats can be enjoyed with treatments. Alba’s onsite restaurant, Thyme, has announced a year-long series of high tea sittings known as Tea Thyme, to be held on the last Sunday of each month.
Chef Mario Di Natale has drawn inspiration from local and seasonal produce to create a sensational sweet and savoury menu. It includes a signature Alba Springs cocktail based on local Bass and Flinders’ distillery Heartbreak Pinot Noir Gin.
While the quintessential offering of savoury and sweet morsels may be traditional, this menu is anything but, with its tastes of both native and exotic flavours. Among other high tea delights, Tea Thyme guests will be treated to tasty toasted brioche with duck liver parfait, mirin jelly, Davidson plum and charred spring onion; dainty ribbon sandwiches with Sichuan white pepper roasted chicken, chives, and avocado; savoury tart topped with whipped fetta, beetroot relish, and spiced seed praline; a pressed sandwich of black sesame cream cheese, pickled wakame cucumber, and dill; sherbet madeleines with yuzu curd custard; profiteroles with Chantilly cream, pandan jelly, and strawberries; blinis, blondies, tiramisu, and more. Gluten-free and vegetarian options are available.
High tea is served with a choice of teas, including Alba’s signature blend, Unearthed English breakfast, green jasmine, Earl Grey, peppermint, chamomile, or lemon and ginger. Thyme’s spectacular setting, with its indoor and rooftop terrace dining, allows guests to enjoy restful vistas across the pool and tea tree ridges towards the Peninsula horizon. The Tea Thyme experience includes all-day bathing in Alba’s thermal springs and a take-home gift of Alba’s custom-blend herbal tea.
There are just 24 spots available per Tea Thyme sitting, so book online to reserve your place.
