Sandi Sieger’s guide to what’s hot and happy(ning) this week. Eat, drink, buy, try, visit, be merry – iso style.
EAT: 365 Days of Free Pho with Hanoi Hannah
To celebrate the launch of its own delivery service, Hanoi Hannah is giving one lucky winner the chance to be slurping pho every day for an entire year — that’s 365 free bowls of steaming hot Vietnamese noodle soup.
The competition is running for two weeks and anyone can enter via the Hanoi Hannah website, with the winner announced on Monday 26 October.
By skipping international delivery partners, Hanoi Hannah’s delivery service helps customers support local and receive the best quality dishes to their home.
DRINK: Romeo Lane
Elevating Friday Zoom drinks for suits nationally, award-winning Melbourne bar Romeo Lane is now sending its hugely popular cocktails right across Australia; a very fancy way end to the week!
With a range of packs and single cocktails available via the Romeo Lane website, bosses can now treat employees and lift spirits with WFH cocktails or boardroom tipples, including classics like the Margarita, Martini or Negroni.
As interstate cocktails are sent each Monday to ensure arrival by Friday, orders must be made in advance, while Melburnians have a little more time up their sleeve with orders delivered on a Thursday. The only thing cocktail lovers will need is a shaker or Tupperware to mix their drink, as well as ice and a glass.
Not just reserved for office workers, Romeo Lane can also arrange deliveries for special occasions, such as birthday or anniversary gifts (customers just need to put their details in billing and the recipient’s in the shipping).
BUY: SWIMM

TRY: A Workout With Sam Wood
The team at Hawthorn Park have called upon our favourite Aussie wellness expert Sam Wood to host a free virtual event that will be sure to put a smile on your dial, and get you through the final leg of lockdown with your mental health intact.
The Sam Wood Virtual Masterclass will begin at 10am on October 17th, and will be live-streamed through Zoom. The webinar will include a talk from Sam on his wellness journey, followed by a 28- minute workout, so make sure you’re ready to get your body moving and start your day right.
Guests will have the opportunity to ask Sam their wellness questions in a Q&A session after the workout.
Sam is also offering an exclusive freebie for any participants who are not already members, one month FREE to his 28 programme.
The event will be free to attend, but registration is required through Eventbrite.
VISIT: Scotland via Spotify
With the weather warming up in Australia, and while international travel restrictions remain in place, many of us are enjoying Spring barbeques and picnics at home, chilling out in our own backyards, and dreaming of future travel plans. As inspiration for where to explore when the time is right to travel – and with many of the planned vents cancelled due to COVID-19, the Year of Scotland (YOSA) in Australia has released Scottish Chill – the second Spotify playlist in the #SoundsofScotland series, curated for those dreaming of hopefully travelling to the bonny islands for the northern hemisphere Spring when our borders reopen.
2020 had been earmarked as the Year of Scotland in Australia to showcase Scotland’s finest traditional, Gaelic, Celtic, and folk musicians to audiences around the country. However, due to the pandemic, many of the planned events were cancelled. In addition to concerts streamed on YOSA’s Facebook page, the #SoundsofScotland Spotify series will help keep the travel dream alive.
So fire up the barbie, pop on the YOSA Scottish Chill playlist, and enjoy the Australian sunshine now while you plan a trip to Scotland for Spring of 2021, when we can (hopefully) all travel again.
