Summer is fast approaching.
In fact, it’ll be here before you know it. And let’s face it – no one wants to spend summer worrying about flabby flesh, jiggling thighs and a pot belly. Summer is a time when you can show off your newly toned, hot body. However, nothing happens overnight.
In fact, if you begin now you could have the beginnings of a beach-ready bod before long. And if you keep it up, imagine how you’ll look come autumn. Let’s check out a way to do fitness fast with a three month regimen to get your body summer ready, without any stress.
Invest in yourself
Don’t worry, we’re not going to suggest a high-class gym where the membership fees could buy a small country in the pacific islands. Instead, you could consider investing in a set of kettlebells. With these nifty tools you can do lifts, squats and other fat-blasting techniques that will see you shed that excess weight. They are quite affordable and you can put the money you’ll save towards the next step of your regimen, which is…
A healthy, balanced diet
We can’t stress this enough: You will get nowhere with kettlebells’ or other weights if you don’t pay close, careful attention to what you are fuelling your body with. The best diet for weight loss isn’t the latest fad getting promoted by B-grade celebrities and quacks. It’s simply a healthy, balanced diet with plenty of fresh fruit, veggies, grains and lean meats.
Try to avoid fattening foods like lots of dairy, desserts, fried foods, junk food and tempting snacks. By all means treat yourself on the rare occasion, but we mean rare. As in, once a fortnight or so. And then try and limit that tasty, tempting treat to a small serve! While you’re working on your diet, you’ll want to balance it out with our next step of the regimen.
Plenty of varied exercise
Pumping iron will build up your muscle quickly, that’s for sure. But if you want to look great at the beach, those happening music festivals and the local pubs and clubs you’ll need to mix and match your types of exercise closely and carefully. Cardio is the best for burning calories. You have a few options here. Running is a great one, but can be high impact on your legs and knees. A great pair of supportive trainers is key.
Another option is cycling, but you need a bike for that.
You can pick one up cheaply or ask around your friends and family. You never know who’s got an old bicycle just laying around gathering dust.
Finally, you could opt for swimming. Casual rates or memberships at local pools are still significantly cheaper than a gym, and swimming is excellent cardio that will improve your lung capacity and give you a boost in other forms of training as well.
Plan out your weeks
Three months may seem like a lifetime right now, but it’s only really twelve weeks.
If you break down each week into different activities and sections this regimen is so easy to achieve. For example, do some bulk cooking of your healthy eats on Sundays. Do some kettlebell exercises Monday nights, hit up your cardio on Wednesday mornings and throw in a yoga or Pilates class on Friday evenings. This allows for some much-needed and well-earned rest days.
It’ll be easier than you think
Just remember, the key to losing weight is regular strenuous exercise and a healthy, balanced diet. Try some kettlebells to help you shed those kilos, and throw some cardio into the mix as well. Plan out your weeks in advance and by summer you’ll have a banging body that’s ready to show off.
