I’ve always been under the impression that I’m a relatively fit person. I always played sports when I was younger and I still like to go to the gym now. However, I have had to rethink this after doing a Springboard Pilates class with The A Life.
I picked springboard pilates because I have no idea as to the difference between the types and their intensities and I figured anything with a springboard could be fun.
Was it fun? Definitely. But more importantly, could I walk properly the next day? Absolutely not. You know you’ve had a decent workout when you can feel the pain beginning only a couple hours after exercise.
But then it hit.
I woke up the next morning and it actually hurt to breathe, let alone laugh. And here I am, three days later still feeling the burn in my abs.
Don’t get me wrong, I am not complaining about this at all. There’s no better feeling than knowing you’ve done a workout and it has actually had an impact and you can feel the difference inside. Not to mention that its probably the first time I have felt my abs work that hard in a long time.
I’m not even ashamed to admit that I checked several times the day after for my 6 pack (it still doesn’t exist unfortunately).
Dr Angela Baklis helped make my first class an absolute breeze, providing tips and variations for different intensity levels along the way. She has a wealth of knowledge on not just pilates, but creating a naturalistic approach to life itself.
If you’re a bit of a pro at pilates and know about the different types there is, then you’ll be happy to know that The A Life has a wide variety of pilates classes to choose from and you can find the timetable and book your spot here.
BUT if pilates isn’t your thing, The A Life also offers osteopathy and naturopathy to help you find the healthiest version of yourself.
AND to my fellow fit-but-not-fit people who want to push themselves that little bit more, don’t hesitate to try out some pilates at The A Life! If I can survive (and love it) than you can too!
