The World Rice Festival invites you on a global journey of food and culture. Over three glorious summer days and evenings (7th – 9th December), you’ll experience culinary delights and cuisines from all over the world, united by one common ingredient – rice! The World Rice Festival is not just another food festival.
Rice Paper Scissors Asian fusion experts, Rice Paper Scissors have cooked up a world class menu for the festival, revolving around their new rice dishes. Choose from Sticky Pork Belly, succulent BBQ Lamb Ribs or Tofu Rendang, all complemented with rice. Seafood Rice Noodle Salad, their highly popular Soft Shell Crab Baguettes and a Mango Sticky Rice Dessert round out this mouth-watering menu. World Rice Festival Melbourne 2018 – Press Release Hoy Pinoy Festival favourites, Hoy Pinoy are also firing up, bringing the heat, with their flame grilled meat skewers, served with rice. Tasty Filipino delicacies such as a succulent Lechon Cebu and Adobo Chicken are also on the menu. Master Roll Vietnam will be doing their South Yarra Banh Mi’s and a very secret menu!
Farang Thai Isaan BBQ Popular Northern Thai BBQ experts, Farang Thai are showcasing their renowned sticky rice Farang Box Sets. Pick from either, Grilled Pork Shoulder or Northern Thai Sausage (Sai Oua) served with steamed sticky rice and a crunchy green papaya salad. Their highly addictive ‘Peek Gai’ (crispy Thai style chicken wings) and ‘Khao Pot Ping’ (grilled corn basted with salted coconut cream, pandan, lime and chilli jam) will also feature on the menu. Mint-O-Mustard Contemporary Indian connoisseurs, Mint-O-Mustard, will be serving Dosas (rice crepe), a Southern Indian street food staple served with potatoes, sambar and chutney. Festival goers can expect Aburi sushi, vibrant South East Asian flavours and delightful sweet treats.
