Sofitel Melbourne On Collins is adding a few surprises to the festive season by serving up a series of ‘merry treats’ during December.
All of your favourite nostalgic Christmas flavours will be paired with a modern French twist (as is the case with this French luxury hotel), from layered gingerbread Jaconde and seasonal spiced mousse to a Christmas snowball served on top of a golden reindeer.
The mid-week Merry High Tea experience will be presented on Sofitel’s dramatic black and white stands which was inspired by Escher’s work on impossible objects and explorations of infinity with the ‘merry treats’ created by the famed international pastry chef, David Hann.
Sofitel is also remaking Melbourne’s best ‘festive cocktails’ serving up a series of holiday cocktails with nostalgic Christmas flavours paired with a modern French twist.
From toasted marshmallow and candy cane to gingerbread and meringue, Sofitel’s master mixologists have all the favourites covered in this very merry cocktail list.
L’Etincelle – Pronounced: Le-Tin-Cell (The Spark)
Decadent and bold, this ‘fiery’ cocktail has the obligatory Christmas liqueur, chocolate. Combined with Kettle One Vodka, Mozart Dark liqueur and garnished with vanilla meringue and a burning sparkler, it’s the perfect order to jump start the festivities.
Le Pain D’épice – Pronounced: Le Pen D-piece (The Gingerbread)
Trade the DIY gingerbread house for this standout DIY cocktail with its dashes of gingerbread syrup, Mount Gay Rum, Disaronno and cream, and garnished with crushed gingerbread.
Le Sucre D’orge – Pronounced: Le Sok Dorge (The Candy Cane)
Pictured above, comes with house-made peppermint and strawberry candy cane sorbet, green Chartreuse liqueur, Kettle One Vodka and finished with sparkling rosé, this winning concoction smells like candy and tastes like Christmas!
Les Trois Mages – Pronounced: Le Twa Marge (The Three Kings)
Fit for a King, this twist on a traditional espresso martini features Kraken Rum, Tia Maria liqueur, Mozart Dark liqueur, a shot of espresso and topped off with a first-of-its-kind 24-karat yellow gold toasted marshmallow.
Sofitel Merry Cocktails are priced from $24 and will be available at the Atrium Bar On 35 as of 2 December until the end of December 2019 whilst the Merry High Tea will be served Monday to Friday’s only and starting from $55 per person with options of either unlimited sweets or unlimited La Bohème Cuvée.
