Melbourne Tea Festival featuring Four Pillars, Luxbite and Vue de Monde is happening this Sunday.
Tea lovers rejoice! The Melbourne Tea Festival is back at Meat Market this Sunday 21 July. After a one-year hiatus, the interactive festival will be bigger and better than ever with over 43 stalls and an educational program of workshops, talks, tastings and masterclasses.
Taste your way through the festival’s boutique tea market, porcelain tasting cup in hand (included with every adult entry ticket), and chat to Melbourne’s best tea purveyors and blenders. Highlights include a masterclass with Vue de Monde’s tea sommelier Thibaut Chuzeville, who will be showing some of his favourite world-class teas, and a session with LuxBite co-founder Bernard Chu, demonstrating two of his favourite recipes using Japanese matcha. And if you’re keen for something more potent, Yarra Valley gin legends Four Pillars Gin will be mixing up delicious, tea-inspired cocktails.

Festival co-founder Renee Creer says, “Melbourne has such an amazing community of tea purveyors, so it’s great to be able to get everyone under the one roof, at the one time, to celebrate specialty tea. I think festival-goers will be amazed at the diversity and quality of teas and tisanes on offer, and the creativity of the blends and tea-inspired products available.”
The market space will be showcasing tea brands that focus on leafy grade, specialty teas, exotic blends, international high-altitude teas, chai teas made from family recipes, Japanese matcha, Australian-grown teas, and healthy herbal tisanes. Browse new tea products, such as cold brew nitro-infused teas by East Forged and Chai Addict’s new chai tea concentrate, and watch a free tea leaf demonstration by Annie O’Reilly, an 8th generation tea leaf reader.
There’ll also be food: LuxBite have created a custom menu of tea-infused treats, including macarons, croissants and cakes; and Flag & Spear will be hosting a tea and cheese pairing workshop.
