From the outside looking in, it’s hard to imagine the hidden world that has been created behind the nondescript facade of 02 Arthurton Road, Northcote. Step inside the blue building, head up the concrete staircase, and you’ve arrived at Kepler’s Yard, an offbeat bar inspired by famed astronomer and mathematician Johannes Kepler.
Born out of Melbourne’s lockdown, this hidden gem, located just off High Street, has a penchant for the peculiar. Filled with quirky thrifted decor, you’ll be taken on a journey through time and space surrounded by intricate pieces that spark minds and conversations.
Created as a mid-week haunt for locals and with a 3am curfew Tuesday-Thursday, Kepler’s Yard is the ultimate spot for nocturnal Northsiders. Leave your cares at the door, sink into a cosy lounge chair with a cocktail in hand, immerse yourself in music, and explore the world of Kepler ’til the wee hours of the morning.
With a focus on supporting local, the bar is curated with an all-Aussie lineup of beer, wine, & cider. Its planet-inspired cocktail menu allows you to knock back signature tipples like the Venus Fly Trap, Slippery Saturn and Mars Attacks.
And if you’re feeling peckish, the team has collaborated with local eateries so you can order tasty treats from neighbour restaurants and have them delivered straight to your table.
What’s on?
Kepler’s Yard supports local artists and musicians through a range of events including trivia nights, monthly comedy shows, life drawing sessions, local DJ nights, and the ultimate Sunday sessions, Spin City Sunday.
