Hallmark Group’s new Latin American-style social club, Hey Chica!, will welcome guests to indulge in a taste of Havana from Friday, September 17, as the local hospitality group open their vibrant new late- night venue in the beating heart of Fortitude Valley.
Influenced by the hum of a neighbourhood street party, Hey Chica! is the closest you’ll get to Cuba without a passport, the vibey new local boasting weekly entertainment, an extensive beverage menu, and tapas inspired by the street-food scene in Latin America.
Hallmark Group Director, Scott Hempel, is excited to open Hey Chica! in September and says the new nightlife destination is an exciting addition to Brisbane’s bustling Brunswick Street.
“Hey Chica! is all about the passion and atmosphere of a Latin American street party – a destination where guests can embrace the diverse and colourful energy found in the back streets of Havana,” Mr Hempel said.
“Characterised by a kaleidoscope of colour, unique décor and ambient lighting, Hey Chica! brings the old-world charm of a classic Havana bar experience to life, offering a lineup of DJ’s accompanied by trumpets, bongos and percussion entertainment for a fun night out.
“In true social club-style, Hey Chica! boasts a delicious beverage menu. From the Zacapa Old Fashioned to the Smokey Cuban packed with Joven Mezcal and cinnamon, reminiscent of a Cuban cigar.
“Lending to the warmer Queensland climate, for something lighter, guests can enjoy a Watermelon Basil Sour, Havana Colada, frosè, or a refreshing mojito – because Cuba was the birthplace of the mojito after all,” he said.
Complementing the late-night bar and entertainment experience, Hey Chica! also offers simple, yet delicious tapas to bring the bold flavours and atmosphere of Latin America to life.
From crispy pork belly bites with sofrito mayo and spicy beef empanadas, to chilli prawn lime skewers and croqueta de jamon, guests will indulge in simple share plates that accompany the effervescent cocktail, wine and spirits menu.
For something heartier, guests can nibble on charcoal oven morsels of striploin, nachos, Cuban sandwiches or the Cuban bowls packed with black beans, charred corn, plantain chips and salsa.
Open from 11am til’ late, the new venue sees Queensland hospitality leaders, Hallmark Group, expand their stronghold across South East Queensland, adding Hey Chica! to their Fortitude Valley presence alongside Retro’s Cocktail Lounge and Finn McCool’s Irish Pub.
