
Returning for a second year, Melburnians can enjoy the tastes, sights and sounds of Asia at Melbourne’s favourite market.
The line-up of more than 20 food and beverage stalls includes a mix of returning favourites as well as a selection of fresh new street food traders.
Returning favourites include:
Son in Law (Thai) – think cartoon fairy floss, cartoon mantou skewers with dipping sauce and spicy Thai fried chicken ribs.
Jom Makan Malaysia (Malaysian) – traditional nyonya fish served on rice and cheese mussels.
Miss Wonton (Vietnamese) – homemade wontons served with soft-shell crabs.
Drums Café (Sri Lankan) – authentic Sri Lankan curries on rice with kottu roti.
Kuya’s Simply Pinoy (Filipino) – grilled traditional pig on a spit with Filipino barbeque skewers and ube cakes.

New traders for visitors to enjoy include:
Durasia (Asian) – fresh cut durians and durian ice-cream.
Lui Boss (Korean) – Korean fried chicken, kimchi fries and beef or pork bulgogi.
Nepal Dining Room (Nepalese) – grilled momo (dumplings) and grilled chicken sekuwa. Each week will see a different culture come alive under the Market’s iconic sheds with weekly themes and a matching program of live music and entertainment.
‘Mooncake Festival’ will kick-off the six-week season with traditional Chinese and Indonesian bands along with lion dancing and a mooncake eating competition. Week two will celebrate the ‘Malaysia Durian Festival’ featuring Malay and Dayak dancing, Malaysian music and a durian eating competition.
Wednesday nights in Melbourne are set to spice up when the Hawker 88 Night Market returns to Queen Victoria Market on Wednesday 18 September 2019.
