Victorian Chefs Unite for ‘Forage’ Charity Cookbook

Forage Cookbook

Chefs from Victorian institutions Cookie, Auction Rooms, Estelle Bistro, Charlie Dumpling, Cumulus Inc, Huxtable and many more have come together for the first time, providing their renowned recipes for the new Forage Cookbook.

Forage is a love letter to the state of Victoria with recipes, stories and gorgeous photographs, from chefs, producers, restaurants and food folk from around Victoria.

Backers will also be pleased to know that all proceeds go to local charity Upside Nepal to create and support agriculture enterprise in Nepal.

MasterChef season one contestant, Julia Jenkins and the instigator of the book, Calum Foulner, are pre-selling the book through a crowdfunding campaign, aiming to raise $25,000 to balance the print costs, shipping and warehousing of the book.

Calum conceived of the concept as a way of generating charitable funds in a way that benefited everyone involved.

“We want to share the paddock-to-plate connection with the Australian people, and in turn, through partnership with Australian charity Upside Nepal, support village development through agriculture enterprise in Nepal. We aim to raise $100K for Upside Nepal.

“The more money we raise through Pozible, the more books we can produce and sell, the more we can spread our message, and ultimately the more money goes to Nepal,” he said.

Julia Jenkins was excited to join the campaign and explore the incredible culinary offerings of Victoria.

“The recipes and pictures for the cookbook were sourced and photographed during an epic 3,000km road trip, criss-crossing the state, visiting the people and places that make Victoria’s culinary scene one of the world’s most diverse and exciting.

The Pozible campaign is now live. You can pre-order copies of the book, purchase Christmas presents and even get the current Australian Young Chef of the Year, Jake Kellie, chef at Estelle Bistro, to cook an opulent meal in your very own home for you and five friends, plus receive six cookbooks.
