COVID-19 has wreaked havoc on our lifestyles – we’re staying in (and we implore you to, as well). Life has changed. Drastically. While it’s not permanent, it’s a big shift, and we’re all feeling it. While you’re doing the right thing (spatial and social distancing + self isolating), we’re updating you with what you need to know about all the things you love. How you can still eat, drink, consume, watch and buy the things that bring you joy. How you can continue to support Australian businesses, artists, creators, makers and more. How you can stay amused, active, educated and entertained at home. How we can all stay connected to the things that make us us.
Melbourne CBD’s laneway pasta haven Pentolina will radiate the warmth of Italian hospitality into your home with its brand new takeaway menu.
Featuring a mix of ready to eat meals and cook at home packs, Pentolina will bring some much needed comfort to self-isolation.
The Ready To Eat menu features classic favourites like rigatoni bolognese and casarecce with chicken cacciatore, plus some of the chef’s specialties like squid ink tagliolini with mussels and zucchini; and chestnut and marscapone agnolotti with butter and sage. There’s also some tasty small bites – think salted cod croquettes and mozzarella in carozza (a smoked & fried scamorza sandwich).
For those who are using self-isolation to sharpen up their cooking skills, the Cook At Home menu features a range of fresh pasta and sauces to cook in your own pentolina (little saucepan) at home, plus cannelloni and lasagna to re-heat in the oven. Italian head chef Gabriele Olivieri has written simple instructions to make sure you’ll be plating up to perfection within minutes!
And for the ultimate isolation indulgence, there’s a Family Feast with your choice of pasta (spinach & ricotta cannelloni or traditional lasagna romagnola) followed by your choice of main course (slow cooked pork belly or Gippsland rabbit with porcini mushrooms). The feast also comes with rosemary and garlic roasted potatoes and house-made focaccia, with the option to add a tub of gelato or a bottle of wine.
Orders can be taken by email (eat@pentolina.com.au), phone (03 9606 0642) or click and collect (https://ordermate.online/pentolinafreshpastabar/menu), with drive-up pickup available on request.
