On Thursday, December 22, Alastair Dobbs from Grosvenor Hotel will host a tasting for last-minute shoppers at the Grocery + Bottle Shop located in the drive-through at 10 Brighton Road, St Kilda East.
Those stopping in will get to try-before-they-buy, ensuring that Christmas gifts are perfectly suited to their recipients.
All kinds of products will be available for sampling and purchase including a delectable range of beverages from Moet & Hennessy (Ruinart, Moet, Glenmorangie and Belvedere); Glenfarclas Whisky from Angoves and complex barrel-aged beers from Boatrocker, with a tasting held by one of their leading brewers.
A delicious range of classic French and Italian cheeses (as well as key Australian producers such as Pyengana & Meredith) from Calendar Cheese will be on offer – think gorgonzola, goats cheese and cheddar.
Still and sparkling wines will be showcased, from importers Distillery Works, who have sourced bottles directly from artisan producers across Piedmont, Tuscany, Treviso and Veneto. These styles include Prosecco, Pinot Grigio, Sangiovese, Barbera and are prized for being balanced and approachable.
There will be complimentary gift-wrapping at the sales counter and all those who spend $150 on a combination of beer, wine, spirits and groceries will receive a free 250g Scoops and Smiles Christmas Pudding ice cream.
