Elwood’s renowned Turtle Café has transformed into ‘A Girl Called Jayne’. With prime positioning on the corner of Ormond and Glen Huntly Road, A Girl Called Jayne will deliver on simplicity and elegance, aiming to bring the best of Melbourne cafés into the heart of Elwood.
Owner Anthony Cannan and Venue Manager Yannick Beaucaine are focused on reawakening the senses of diners, offering fresh, seasonal Victorian produce and outstanding coffee with regular single origin guest roasters from across the country.
The driving force behind A Girl Called Jayne, Beaucaine has designed the menu and hospitality offering with inspiration drawn from his extensive experience in top French restaurants, Le Jules Verne and Chateau des Avenieres, and more locally at Noir.
“My aim with A Girl Called Jayne is to consistently excel in the dining experience from arrival to departure, including delivering high quality product, service and overall ambiance,” says Beaucaine.
With an exciting menu on offer, A Girl Called Jayne breakfast items set to be a hit with diners include:
- Brulée French Toast -Maple crème brûlée on Challah Bread French toast and seasonal fruits
- Pumpkin & Pumpkin -Butternut Pumpkin Hummus, Skin on Roasted Japanese Pumpkin, Roasted Seeds, Ajitsuke Tamago egg
A lunch specials board will extend the menu each day, while the Chicken Katsu Burger – Crispy fried chicken thighs, shredded cabbage, Japanese mayo and tonkatsu sauce, daikon pickles is destined to become a local hit.

A Girl Called Jayne is located at 34 Glen Huntly Road Elwood and is open daily from Thursday, 12th October from Monday to Wednesday, 7am – 4pm and Thursday to Sunday, 7am – 1am.
