Designed by JAK Creative (the sorcerers who helped design The Wizards Brunch at Melbourne Town Hall earlier this year) in collaboration with the Muses of Mystery (one of the city’s finest metaphysical destinations and a cavern of mysticism), every corner of this curated room delights and intrigues.
The Mystic Chamber gives a stylish nod to the past with antiques, mystical artefacts, and characterful furniture, but with all the contemporary comforts of a luxury city hotel room. From a genuine crystal ball to celestial walls, sumptuous velvet bedding and ‘stained glass’ windows framing one-of-a-kind views of Flinders Street Station, The Arts Centre and the MCG, the ‘Mystic Chamber’ will inspire a sense of wonder.

On arrival, guests will discover a magical cocktail awaiting their creation. ‘Flinders Quarter Aurora’ reaches its full powers when you blend red cabbage infused gin with fruit juices and bitters selected for their healing properties along with their delicious combined flavours. As you concoct the potion and pour over ice, you’ll see its colours morph from pale violet to bright fuchsia pink.
When the mood strikes, order the ‘Fortune Teller’s Fantasy’ from room service, a delectable chocolate ball with a white mousse centre, toasted white chocolate, berry sauce and chocolate popping candy for extra magical energy.
Fur turn-down, your pillows will be lightly sprayed with the Muses of Mystery’s Astral Dreaming Mist to inspire calm sleep and astral travel.
The Muses of Mystery is located in the Nicholas Building, a short walk from the hotel along Melbourne’s most famous laneways. The ‘Mystic Chamber’ is the fourth of the hotel’s curated rooms, following a furry Ugg room in winter 2016, a bohemian summer sleepover room created in collaboration with Sage x Clare homewares, and a graffiti room produced by 90 degrees.
