Some say Prosecco is best paired with prosciutto and parmesan, while others appease the palate with freshly shucked oysters and lemon vinaigrette.
Whatever your predilection, everyone can agree a glass of bubbles bodes best with delicate flavours from across the Mediterranean – and that’s exactly the type of fare festival goers can expect at next year’s Prosecco Festival.
Popping back onto the summer scene on Saturday 23rd of February 2019, following a standout debut earlier this year, Melbourne’s Prosecco Festival is an exclusive affair for the aficionados of fineItalian sparkling wine and cuisine.
In a bigger venue on Melbourne’s hip north side, expect the big names in local Prosecco includingWines of the King Valley – comprising Dal Zotto, Pizzini, Chrismont, Sam Miranda and BrownBrothers – together with Box Grove Vineyard, Vinea Marson, Santa & D’Sas, Symphonia Wines, and Politini Wines. From Italy comes a stunning array of DOCG wines, with importers including FestivalCity Wines, Regina Vino, Alepat Taylor, Winestock, and still more to come. Tricolore Imports are also back on board with their ever-popular Rosé Cuvée.
Whet your appetite by pairing your Prosecco with delicious food hand-selected for the event, including 400 Gradi, Gelato Papa, Eat Cannoli, Yarra Valley Caviar and Arancini Art. There’s even salami made with Prosecco, thanks to James Mele at The Meat Room.
What’s more? Attendees will be able to relax in the festival’s Spritz Garden, a zone dedicated to our Prosecco cocktail of choice, with drinks served from Australia’s first mobile Prosecco and Spritz Bar, Van Di Vino.
Guests can sip and graze their way across one of two sessions, 11am-3pm and 4pm-8pm, at Northcote Town Hall Arts Centre, immersing themselves in a day of divine food, wine and conversation. Can you picture a better way to spend a Saturday in summer? We didn’t think so.
For true wine devotees, festival founder Melissa Brauer, The Prosecco Queen, will be hosting two VIP master classes, where guests will indulge and be educated in a variety of Prosecco, complemented by a delectable antipasto spread.
Assemble your Prosecco-loving peers now, as the popularity for this event starts to bubble over. Tickets are available online for $50 and include a Plumm crystal tasting glass and tote bag for take- home wine purchases.
Due to space constraints and licensing restrictions this is an adults only event – children under 18 cannot be accommodated at any time. So line up a babysitter and send off summer in style because it’s #ProseccoTime!
