The Crafty Squire, Melbourne CBD’s only working microbrewery, is inviting beer and whisky enthusiasts to attend its first ‘Boilermaker Class’ on Saturday, 6 February.
The Russell Street pub will host an interactive master class, tasting some of Scotland’s most famous single malt Whiskys matched with James Squire’s crafty brews.
The ‘Boilermakers’ at the class will be served up in a classic American style, with the beer served as a chaser for the matched whisky.
Some of the whiskys to be tasted on the night include: 12-year-old Glenkinchie, 15-year-old Dalwhinni and Oban 14-year-old single malt scotch, which will be paired with a range of James Squire ale, porter and ciders.
The iconic James Squire Brewhouse officially reopened its doors in 2015 as The Crafty Squire, having undergone extensive renovations to offer a modern bar, restaurant, microbrewery and function facilities under the one roof.
The Crafty Squire pays homage to the life of James Squire, a story that is told in snippets throughout the historic pub.
Ideal as a gift or weekend activity with friends, the boilermaker class has strictly limited spaces and is selling out fast. Bookings are available online at http://thecraftysquire.com.au/whats- on/events/boilermaker-class/ or by phoning the venue.
