Recently acquiring Port Melbourne’s The Cricketers after a successful revamp of South Melbourne’s now beloved The Montague, community-centric Bon Vivant Group are introducing themselves to the neighbourhood and beyond in a celebration of all things gin and tonic.
Botanical Thursdays invites locals and gin lovers alike to join Bon Vivant Group publicans Nick Allardice and Romaric Senelas in The Cricketers’ newly refurbished Beefeater 24 Gin Garden to share in the seasoned veterans’ expertise in premium liquor.In a fun and interactive evening, guests will be served gin flights with a selection of tonics and garnishes, mixing and matching their own or with the help from the expert behind the bar. Gin flights on offer including:
- A Taste of Australia – Brookies, Green Ant Gin, Archie Rose Distiller’s Strength Gin – $24
- Gin Through the Ages – Plymouth, Herno Old Tom Gin, Martin Miller’s 9 Moons Aged Gin – $30
- Melbourne’s Sweetheart – Four Pillars Rare Dry, Four Pillars Spiced Negroni, Four Pillars Sherry Cask Gin – $26
- Back to the Burroughs –Beefeater 24, Beefeater PINK, Beefeater Burrough’s Reserve – $20
Guests will create a series of perfect G&T’s topped with Fever Tree and Capi tonics, herbaceous garnishes such as lavender, sage and rosemary will be freshly picked from the garden, with unusual fruit pairings including pink grapefruit and strawberries served dehydrated. Classic combinations like cucumber and lemon will be elevated with ice cubes of frozen rose petal.
After heading international spirit giant Pernod Ricard as National Sales Manager, working alongside Australia’s leading hospitality groups, and founding St Arnou – one of Australia’s first craft beer companies – Bon Vivant Group Managing Director Nick Allardice has an in-depth understanding of premium liquor and certainly has knowledge to share.
