Adela Wine Bar has exploded onto the Brisbane food and wine scene with over 150+ curious wines and delicious Euro-cuisine.
For experienced restauranter Silvana Calil, Adela is an opportunity to share her passion for curious wines with Brisbaneites, and provide a cosy, intimate dining space for guests to enjoy.
The Albion-based wine bar has already made an impact on locals, with guests raving about the wine selection, unique menu offerings and exceptional level of service.
Wine is the primary focus of the restaurant, with Silvana placing great emphasis on sharing small-batch drops sourced from local and international winemakers. Adela’s extensive wine selection is carefully curated, with over 150+ offerings and 30 rotating options available by the glass.
“We love to talk our guests through the stories behind each of the producers we feature, and to suggest pairings with our menu options for an enchanting dining experience,” says Silvana.
From timeless classics to contemporary innovations, the wines on offer range from Australian classics to global drops.
Adela rounds out its drink options with a bespoke cocktail menu and beer offerings, including Australian actor Travis Fimmel’s signature Travla Lager.
While Adela’s passion for wine is a driving force, the restaurant’s menu cannot be overlooked. In the kitchen, Head Chef Kohel Mintz draws from a wealth of experience working in Michelin-starred restaurants including Têtedoie in Lyon and Le Gavroche in London.
Kohel’s passion for European cuisine is reflected in Adela’s seasonal menu, which is updated regularly based on produce availability and offers a variety of culinary delights ranging from cheeseboards and charcuterie to small and large plates with offerings like Corn Ribs, Seared Barramundi and an exquisite Rockmelon Gazpacho.
“I like to focus on creating dishes which are packed with flavour, and bring modern twists to traditional recipes,” says Kohel, “and it’s been amazing to see the positive reception that guests have had to some of our signature dishes like our Lamb Presse with romesco, carrot and pickles.”
The restaurant’s layout lends itself to laid-back evenings and sharing good times with friends, offering an ambient atmosphere with an intimate small bar, exposed concrete ceiling, sheer curtains and seating options including highset bar chairs, lowset lounge chairs and dining tables. Adela also offers a covered outdoor terrace with additional seating for larger groups.
Another key focus of the restaurant’s experience is hospitality, and the overwhelming positivity in the restaurant’s Google Reviews are a testament to the emphasis which the Adela team place on making every guest feel welcome and explaining the story behind each of the curated wines and menu offerings.
