BIO by D.O.C from Melbourne’s Carlton has popped up in Sydney, taking over D.O.C Surry Hills for a limited time.
Launched by the team late last year, BIO is a plant based and gluten-free Italian destination that takes what you might expect from a meat-free location and gives it a dose of no-fuss Italian goodness you know from D.O.C’s Pizza offerings.
To celebrate the D.O.C Surry Hills’ 1st Birthday, BIO travels north for a pop-up menu of vegan treats sure to expand your view of what Italian’s can do without San Danielle prosciutto on board. From next week, diners can select from the special pop-up menu at their choosing, try just a few or all of them and make it a true vegan meal top to tail.
The menu covers some of the biggest hits BIO’s Melbourne launch, featuring a plant-based pizza take on a tartare complete with truffle paste, capers and mustard like the classic; broccolini hit with fresh chilli on a creamy mousse made with macadamia; a vegan take on everyone’s favourite lasagne made with lentils and rounded out with their already super popular vegan tiramisu, which replaces the classic mascarpone with cashew cream. D.O.C’s team swear it’s even better than its dairy counterpart.
