Renowned for their mastery in winemaking, Victoria’s Bellarine Estate is excited to unveil their latest creation – a range of meticulously hand crafted, single origin, small batch gins that marry exceptional winemaking and fermenting knowledge with the world of spirits.
Leveraging their experience and innovation, the family-owned Bellarine Estate introduces Thirty Acres – a range of craft gins that promise a level of quality and refinement that stands apart.
The Thirty Acres range includes three bottled gins – Pinot, Shiraz and a Classic London Style Dry.
Additionally, they offer a convenient pre-mixed Blood Orange Gin & Tonic, available in 250ml ready-to-drink cans – a great choice for picnics and parties.
Drawing upon their deep-rooted understanding of fermentation and alcohol production, the winemakers on the picturesque Bellarine Peninsula have ventured into the realm of spirits, creating a gin that showcases expertise in producing exceptional beverages.
Produced ‘field to flask’, Thirty Acres distillery sets itself apart by making its own alcohol onsite, ensuring a meticulous level of control over the base spirits.
This process leads to a smoother and more refined product, setting the stage for a unique gin experience.
Bellarine Estate’s general manager and chief winemaker, Kenny brothers James (29) and Julian (27), have been quietly refining their Thirty Acres gins at the family winery since 2020.
At the heart of their innovation lies an extended distillation process, incorporating additional steps that contribute to the gin’s smoothness.
What distinguishes Thirty Acres is a dedication to the botanical infusion process that goes above and beyond the norm.
Botanicals such as coriander, cardamom pods, grains of paradise and citrus peels, are carefully selected and soaked for longer, allowing the flavours to fully infuse into the spirit.
The result is a gin with a rich and complex flavour profile.
In a bold move that highlights a unique approach, Bellarine Estate introduces wine grapes as a distinctive ingredient, imparting a captivating terroir flavour to the gin – a twist showcasing their ability to blend the worlds of winemaking and spirits.
“We are thrilled to unveil our hand crafted gins, a range of products that embody the culmination of our winemaking expertise and passion for crafting exceptional beverages,” general manager James Kenny says.
“With our techniques and relentless commitment to quality, we have reimagined what a craft gin can be.
“We invite enthusiasts to experience the harmonious blend of flavours that defines Thirty Acres.”
Julian adds, “There’s a distinct floral and fruity character to our gins that we get by using grapes that are purpose-grown in our own vineyards.
“This is very apparent in our Pinot Noir and Shiraz gins but it also comes through in our Classic London Dry Style Gin.
“Making award-winning wines is in our blood so we weren’t going to rush into making anything less than a gin that has the potential to be award-winning too.”
This craft gin is a celebration of expertise, innovation and passion.
