How many senses of the word classic are there? Just the one? Well, it’s not inaccurate then.
There are a few European pilsners out and about that are from Germany and the Czech Republic that have been made for generations and are polished and refined.
Moo Brew from Berriedale in Tasmania produce a very true to style version of a German pilsner, using all traditional ingredients to create an Australian version of a delicate, dry, crisp pilsner.
Very pale straw in colour and extremely clear, it’s quite aesthetically pleasing. That’s only the beginning though.
Slightly sweet, fresh aroma with wheat malt hints, this leads into the crisp, dry bite of the hop bitterness. Very quickly some sweetness from the malt comes to the forefront and this stretches out with some lingering bitterness on the tongue.
