Arbory Afloat have officially unveiled their brand new tiled pool, promising a summer of escape, relaxation, parties and pleasure on board the Balearic Beach Club.
While the floating bar and restaurant rebirthed for its seventh season a couple of months ago, the opening of the pool means summer on the Yarra just got a whole lot dreamier.
“We’re so excited to be welcoming guests back for another year of fun in the sun,” says Chief Operating Officer Tom Byrne. “The installation of our new floating swimming pool really kick starts our summer season,” he adds.
This year, the pool is located on the west end of Afloat’s lower deck, with an infinity edge facing the afternoon sunsets – the ideal spot to kick back with a sundowner in hand and wash your worries away. Perched beside and with your toes in the water, it’ll be reminiscent of international holiday moments: balmy evenings, sunny days and warm hours spent with friends and family.
Leaning into the free spirit and creative character of this year’s Balearic Islands theme, it comes fitted with imported Italian tiles, textured furnishings and two four-metre palm trees that will transport you straight to the alluring and idyllic coasts of Spain. Just like all good international beach clubs, it will also be surrounded by striking orange daybeds, cabanas and sun lounges, perfect for a post-dip spritz and snack.
Above and beyond anything Afloat has seen before – this year’s installation features a hydraulic floor that allows lifeguards to adjust the depth of the pool as needed. Uniquely designed for Arbory Afloat, this upgrade means that while there will be dedicated swim times, the pool will remain open (albeit shallower) every day of the week.
Coinciding with the arrival of the pool is an exciting schedule of all-inclusive ticketed events including Afloat’s famous New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day pool parties. Expect the drinks to be flowing, the tunes to be blaring and the entertainment to be some of Melbourne’s best.
Arbory Afloat’s towel-concierge also returns on deck this year, alongside Arbory Afloat hats, t-shirts and sunscreen available to purchase.
Swim times may vary from week to week and may change with the weather.
