Dog lovers are a special breed. Now they have a new place to meet: DOG SOCIETY, a smart new social media site that helps dog owners get together, get active in their communities, make new friends, support local animal charities and learn more about caring for four legged friends. And it just might lead to love…
DOG SOCIETY is the brainchild of 30-year-old dog lover and qualified pooch masseuse Tanya Hynes. It’s a free service with paid memberships available, and is aimed at dog owners over the age of 18.
Not just a dating site, DOG SOCIETY is for anyone seeking companionship amongst like-minded dog devotees. For anyone who has recently moved town, retired, who is lonely, or is simply seeking some new walking buddies, DOG SOCIETY delivers.
DOG SOCIETY is free to join. Dog owners can upload a profile page of their dog, view others’ profiles, and chat with or message members. Paid memberships are also available with an annual fee of $99 offering more space for photos of dogs and their owners, and the chance to support local animal charities via a percentage of their membership fees.
Members also receive exclusive information, special offers and discounts, a monthly newsletter, invitations and discounted entry to exclusive DOG SOCIETY events, plus many more perks.
Melbourne based animal lover and adventurer Tanya Hynes, who climbed Kilimanjaro and helped manage a lion park in Zimbabwe before starting DOG SOCIETY, describes her happy-go-lucky, beach loving, four year-old Miniature Schnauzer Winston as the love of her life. She says DOG SOCIETY will help motivate dog lovers to get what they want out of life. “Sometimes we all need a push to get out there and exercise our dogs and ourselves,” Tanya said. “I think dog owners will see the appeal in this idea. It’s about instant access to people who share your passion for dogs and who are keen to meet up for walks and play dates. It’s also a practical source of sound advice about pet care. And for those who are looking for love? Well, we won’t stand in the way.”
DOG SOCIETY aims to attract dog owners from all over Australia, from all walks of life, whose level of engagement on the site will depend on their lifestyle and love for their pet.
