The real life married couple behind Australian start-up Melt: Massage for Couples believes every relationship deserves a little bit of massage, and all it takes is a little know-how. So much so, that they are letting customers pay whatever they want to learn to massage their partner.
Their world-first massage eCourse, Melt: Massage for Couples, combines beautiful cinematography with expert instructions to teach couples the basics for a beautiful massage at home. Customers receive instant access to the tutorials and can stream the videos directly to their smart TV, laptop, tablet or smartphone.
The course has been designed especially for any couple to use in the home, with no jargon and no need for massage tables or special equipment.
“Most couples already give each other a back rub every now and then,” says course creator Denis Merkas. “Melt has been developed to show couples a few simple techniques that they can replicate in their living room. By the end of our course, couples are able to treat each other to a sensational 30 minute massage without a sore hand in sight.”
The eCourse is now available for instant access for as little as $1 under the company’s Pay What You Want launch campaign. Further, 20 per cent of every contribution made will be donated to White Ribbon, the world’s largest male-led movement to end men’s violence against women.
“It might sound like a basic thing, but a five-minute shoulder rub can change your partner’s whole day. Massage between couples builds trust, intimacy and is a great way to show love and spend time together. We didn’t want money to be a barrier for couples being able to access our content,” says Merkas. “Every relationship deserves a little bit of massage.”
Denis and his wife Emma have taught couples how to massage for more than eight years in sold-out Melbourne seminars. In January, the pair flew to Los Angeles to commit the teachings to film in a high-quality production with cinematographer Gabriel Bienczycki.
Shot in cutting-edge 5K resolution, each massage technique can be seen in incredible detail and comes complete with voiceover commentary from Merkas. At the end of each segment, there is a follow-along massage routine so couples can easily watch and replicate a 5 minute, 15 minute and 30 minute massage routine.
Similar online courses in the fields of yoga, meditation and nutrition are valued at $199.
