Taking advantage of the growing popularity of old-school jigsaw puzzles, the couple behind Bookabuy – Australia’s first personalised book subscription service – have launched a new personalised puzzle subscription service, Puzzle Post.
Puzzle enthusiasts can now have a brand-new jigsaw puzzle delivered to their door each month, which has been personally handpicked to suit their individual tastes. Ideal for gifting, Puzzle Post subscriptions are available as either an ongoing or one-off fixed term subscription.
Puzzle Post is co-founded by husband and wife team, Chris and Mel Tantchev, who launched personalised book subscription service, Bookabuy, in 2015. Having tripled Bookabuy’s revenue since launch and sent tens of thousands of orders, the couple decided to expand their business after noticing a resurgence in popularity of jigsaw puzzles.
“I’ve always loved doing jigsaw puzzles, but over the last year or so we noticed a lot of our friends were starting to get into them too. There were pictures of puzzles popping up in our social feeds and half-finished puzzles on our friends’ tables,” Co-Founder Mel Tantchev explained.
“We did some research and realised puzzles weren’t just making a comeback in our inner circle – there’s a steady trend of puzzle sales going up around the world. And given there’s such a natural crossover with books and puzzles, expanding our business to include a puzzle subscription just made sense. And the reactions so far have been overwhelmingly positive – everyone we’ve spoken to has been really excited about it!”

Co-founder Chris Tantchev says Puzzle Post is a natural expansion for Bookabuy, “When we launched Bookabuy four years ago we had no idea it would be so successful. But I think its success is a testament to the fact that people still love that real-life, tactile experience that digital just isn’t able to replicate. Whether it’s a paperback or a jigsaw puzzle, our customers love receiving a parcel at their door each month and the anticipation and excitement of not knowing what’s inside.
“We’ve learned so much about the subscription model since having launched Bookabuy and we’re really excited to bring that knowledge to Puzzle Post. We pride ourselves on our attention to detail and customer satisfaction, and will continue to offer that same level of care with our Puzzle Post subscriptions.”

Puzzle Post customers can choose a one off, fixed term or ongoing monthly subscription, with prices ranging between $39-$83 per month. With a range of themes and difficulty levels to choose from, customers can also include information about themselves or their gift recipient, and Puzzle Post will personally select a puzzle to suit each month.
