For those who may have accused MSFW of being female-orientated, Friday quelled those complaints with a lunchtime series show, ‘It’s A Man’s World’ catering to the fashion conscious male.
Popular men’s labels including Leopold, yd., Tarocash and Dom Bagnato had their turn to shine in a fun runway show that showed the Aussie man can rival his European counterparts in the style stakes.
Leopold showcased some fantastic jackets with a nautical themed navy blazer with white edging detail and a shortened male-version of the classic trench coat.
Checked shirts once again featured in a few of the collections, making them one of the strongest trends for guys, and easily dressed up or down. Stock up on a few different colours; brights, camo-inspired and you’ll easily cover all trends.
Printed tees in a myriad of gaze-stealing bright colours were also a strong trend, but are best kept to casual wear and teamed with some neutral coloured bottoms – otherwise there’s a risk of too much going on.
Military trends are hot for both sexes with camo-pants, khaki and utility shirts giving men a tough edge to their styled exterior.
Dom Bagnato stole the show in my opinion, with their suave three-piece suits and slicked back hairstyles evoking the style and sophistication of the Italian Riviera. Mustards, pastel pink, green and blues adorned crisp shirts that were teamed with thin-lapelled jackets.
Go on ladies, take your man shopping at Dom Bagnato, step back and squint – you’ve got your very own Chuck Bass.
