Highpoint Shopping Day is back with a fresh new program for Spring, offering one day of exclusive retail offers and entertainment on Tuesday 16 September.
With trading hours extended until 10pm, guests can shop over 250 exciting retail offers, and be treated to a touch of pampering, free Spring treats, fashion shows and entertainment for the kids.
Fashion enthusiasts looking for style inspiration will have the opportunity to meet the Highpoint Style Set, the centre’s newly appointed fashion stylists, in a beautiful pop-up fashion space, The Style Gallery, outside David Jones on Level 2.
The perfect complement to the centre’s extensive Australian and international fashion brands, the Highpoint Style Set features in-demand stylists Kate Gaskin, Nadia Bartel, Meagan Harding and Sarah Singer who have partnered exclusively with Highpoint to share their style secrets and showcase new season fashion trends.
The Style Set will be revealed as part of a beautiful fashion installation, The Style Gallery. Customers can chat one-on-one with the stylists, catch a fashion show and check out the latest trends and top fashion picks for the season. Be inspired to explore your own style with a fun quiz, My Style Finder. Whether you’re into glamour, boho or understated fashion, the interactive questionnaire will match you to the Highpoint stylist that suits your needs and fits your individual style.
Meagan Harding
Meagan Harding, one of Highpoint Shopping Centre’s personal stylists, from the new Style Set, shares her tips on how you can create your own personal style:
“Look like you got dressed on purpose.”
The key phrase here being ON PURPOSE!
What do I mean? I mean that you don’t have to be in the latest fashion or trend; I just want you to look like you made an effort.
I want to know that some form of thought went into your outfit before you walked out the door.
It doesn’t matter what style you choose to wear, or what your personal style is, I just want to look at you and know that you are loving your outfit and feel mighty fine wearing it.
You see, putting in a small amount of effort when dressing, really can change the way you feel about yourself all day long.
I will never forget the image of a particular guest at a friend’s wedding. She had obviously paid good money for her dress and shoes, and they looked great on her…until you got to the neck.
She was wearing not one bit of makeup and her hair in a ponytail. Not a fashionable ponytail; the type you throw your hair into when you’re going to the gym. All the time and thought that went into her outfit was lost because she didn’t look like she got dressed on purpose.
To look like you got dressed on purpose covers these key areas:
– Clothes
– Shoes
– Hair
– Makeup
– Accessories
If one of these areas is lacking, it will affect the whole package.
I cannot stress enough that this philosophy has nothing to do with trends or fashion. It matters not what personal style you choose, just rock it from head to toe!
Sarah Singer, Personal Stylist at the Style Set team adds: “Your personal style should be unique to reflect you and your ‘package’ such as your lifestyle, aspirations and personality. Allow your style to evolve – creating your own personal style is empowering and exciting.”
‘The Style Gallery’ will be running for a week from September 16 at Highpoint Shopping Centre, where people can come and meet all the stylists for personal styling mini sessions, alongside fashion shows and discounts across the stores.
