Baroq House was the perfect venue to host Miss Green’s fabulous fashion affair. An intimate evening filled with clothes-swapping, canapés, champagne and soft-lighting was only enhanced by the luscious location’s stone walls, cast iron features, and cosy atmosphere. Miss Green’s fashion parade opened the evening, featuring the Australian-made Farrage, and jewellery label, Joolz.
The parade presented a tasteful mix of styled business attire and dark winter wear. A particular favourite of mine was a double-breasted knee-length coat in a deep navy, which featured beautiful gold buttons and a cinched waist that supported an a-line skirt. Equally as exciting was the apparent normal height of the models as they strode past the audience on a makeshift carpet catwalk.
Rebecca George, otherwise known as Miss Green, made the encouraging observation that in our efforts to remain environmentally sustainable, fashionistas worldwide are better off investing in lasting and classic pieces, rather than affording less expensive seasonal looks. To highlight the reusability of lasting investments, the evening ended with a much-anticipated clothing swap. In exchange for tokens, each party member was encouraged to bring up to five luxury fashion items that were no longer of use to them, yet remained in impeccable form. These items were hung on racks, and browsed at by the rest of the evening’s entourage. Participants then swapped their tokens for items that others had given in to swap. Amidst the frenzy of exchanges, Bettina Liano, Allanah Hill and Nicola Finetti were sighted amongst the hangers. The evening petered out as fashion fanatics indulged their love for fossicking, and left in clusters with arms full of threads. I’m particularly chuffed with my giant faux-fur Harry Who number, thankyou Miss Green!
