On Sunday the 6th of September, the last official day of Melbourne’s Spring Fashion Week, guys and gals dressed in their finest threads and gathered at The Willows on St.Kilda Road for Miss Green’s Garden Party.
The event, conceptualised by Rebecca George, was a wonderfully lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon – and an eco-friendly one at that. The concept was simple; come along in your garden party finest, have a chance at winning best dressed man or woman, watch a catwalk parade and then have the chance to bid on the one-off (and utterly gorgeous) eco-friendly garments by local, establised and emerging designers.

The designers with outfits on parade, and up for auction, were Anna Campbell, Jenny Bannister, Nicolangela, Messina Designs, Miss Lyndel Yeo, Nikolina Concepts, Alexi Freeman, Tiffany Treloar, Side Show Design, Leonard St, Made in Donald, Lady Petrova, K.B.A.D, Sara Victoria and Eva Q, with jewellery by Joolz and fascinators by Hair Fascinators. The designs and creations were impressive, but more so was the other wonderful concept related to them; every designer was donating half of the auction price to a charity of their choice. Guests also had a chance to win a $500 OPI nail pamper hamper, simply by making a gold coin donation towards Eastern Health.
The afternoon, complete with decadent and deliciously yummy cupcakes, fresh iced tea and organic wines, was made even more gorgeous by the models dressed in handmade lingerie by Hopeless, carrying SIGG water bottles; the environmentally friendly water bottle. Each guest was lucky enough to receive an Envirosax goodie bag with a SIGG bottle of their very own, as well as beauty products, organic chocolate and vouchers.

Onya was incredibly proud to be a media partner for such a well executed, beautiful event. It was the most refreshing way to spend an afternoon – congratulations to Miss Greens Garden Party, the brainchild of Rebecca George following Miss Green’s Wardrobe events – we can’t wait to see what’s next.
