I’m not going to lie. I’m a little bit disappointed. None of my name suggestions were picked up for the fabulous new pop-up boutique located at the iconic Georges on Collins in Melbourne. Luckily, an invite to the launch party and an opportunity to meet the fabulous designers involved – Nikolina (Nikolina Concepts), Airdrie (Joolz) and Kristy (Kuwaii) made up for it. The name the designers chose, <insert name here>, was also suggested by a fan and is a title that refects the temporary nature of the store.
Launched on Tuesday evening, the 20th of October, the pop up store was born after the successful Spirit of the Black Dress competition and display during Melbourne Spring Fashion Week. The girls, each looking after millinery, jewellery and frocks respectively, are all very talented in their chosen fields and the store is a one stop shop for all your spring racing needs.
Australian design is one of the major drawcards for the store and while the Spring Racing Carnival is an ideal time to bring these designers together, the pieces these clever girls have created are individually stunning and would easily fit into your everyday wardrobe.
Supported by Ecosilk Bags, Peony Melbourne, Nuts and Bananas, Tipsy Toes, Chamellia, Mirenesse, Nilla Nilla, Café Cucina and Monique Gow, the launch party showcased the store and gave fashion VIPs a chance to sneak a peak at some of the gorgeous wares the girls have on sale.
