They say diamonds are a girls best friend and never was that clearer than at Anton Jewellery’s 2014 collection preview last week. The fine jeweller hosted media and VIP guests in an intimate cocktail party at its Chadstone store, showcasing the standout pieces from the new season.
Bigger is definitely better, with this the season to be bold and beautiful with your jewels.
Director Sevan Behar took inspiration from his travels in London, Paris and Dubai for the collection, whilst keeping his friends and clients in mind when designing the pieces. Many are designed to go from day to night, for wearability and versatility.
Classics are classics for a reason, and while there’s plenty of beautifully simple and traditional pieces, the real standout items are the ones that have been updated with a modern and fashionable twist to reflect current trends.
Hello yellow
Yellow diamonds are (literally!) huge this season, with the ‘Hello Yellow’ collection being one of my favourites of the evening. Available in a range of shapes and cuts, whether in a ring or earrings, the yellow diamond offers a modern and stylish alternative to the traditional diamond. On many pieces, smaller silver diamonds surround a larger yellow diamond, creating a striking effect.
If you like it, then you should’ve put a ring (or three!) on it…
Forget understated – more is more, with stacked and interlocked rings in silver and gold a key item to own this season. The combination of different metals, diamonds and textures makes a modern and eye-catching statement. Just one will do, for a look of ‘understated bling’.
For engagement and wedding rings, it’s not a season for subtlety. The Hot Rocks collection is filled with rocks of various sizes in both vintage and modern styles. There’s some serious sparkle – for what goes better with diamonds than more diamonds?
Watch it
Stocking iconic watch brands including Cartier, Frank Mueller, TagHeuer, Longines and Versace, Anton Jewellery offer gorgeous classic investment timepieces. Frank Mueller’s wacky watches have coloured straps and numbers, while Longines offer some great man style watches. The standouts though, are definitely the neon bright Versace watches in fluorescent pink, yellow and orange. The design is kept classic and simple, meaning the coloured face and strap make the watch eyecatching but wearable. The only problem is which colour to choose… we’ve got our eyes on the orange!
If you invest in one piece…
Make it these showstopping diamond earrings. While they may give your earlobes a bit of a workout, they’re the finishing touch to any glamorous evening look. You won’t need any other accessories with these – wear your hair up or swept effortlessly to the side and keep the rest of your outfit simple to let these bad boys do all the talking.
As Anton Jewellery Director Sesil Arzadian said, “whether you’re relaxing on your boat or going out to dinner, there’s the perfect piece of jewellery for you in the new collections.”
