A new Australian fashion brand, specialising in distinctive knitted ties, aims to challenge conventions about menswear, bringing a unique, sartorial approach to men’s dressing.
Geezer Melbourne, the brainchild of two twenty year olds, Dulanka Weraduwage and Ibrahim Shah Khan, has been created in response to the number of men wanting to take a more casual approach to dressing up.
“Dressing today is all about mixing styles and standing out from the crowd, and we’re seeing a huge demand in the number of men wanting to wear ties with jeans or shorts for a more casual look. Our knitted ties are perfect to wear to an informal barbeque, a casual work environment, or even a special occasion event,” says Dulanka Weraduwage.
“We’ve seen our ties on grooms, at the races, and at the local park. We’ve even seen demand amongst females, wanting to mix up their look. We established our company in response to rules and convention about menswear – we want to get rid of them!”
Geezer Melbourne’s ethos is about producing wearable items from creative materials that have contemporary design and quality; allowing their customers to cut a dash, in every season.
The knitted ties come in a range of fashion colours and patterns, and are 100% silk. RRP $50.00. Geezer Melbourne has plans to expand their collection to include other fashion items and accessories.
