In a world where cultural collaborations have become increasingly important, al.ive body have teamed up with the female Indigenous artist group, Cungelella, to launch a unique, limited-edition collection, adorned with their works.
As artists, Kalkadoon women, mothers, sisters, partners and business owners, the Cungelella Art Group’s mission is to tell stories of their culture and homeland through art. Carving out their own unique style, the Cungelella sisters have embraced their traditional knowledge and heritage, and appreciation for the land, to produce a modern take on Aboriginal art.
The ultimate sisterhood – Twins and Founders of al.ive body, Alisa and Lysandra Fraser, were inspired by the stories that Cungelella’s artworks tell. Through colours, textures and history, the Cungelella sisters tell stories of their homeland, Kalkatunga Country. Drawing parallels to al.ive body, the entire range has been inspired by the Australian landscape, making this collaboration a natural, synergistic fit.
Alisa and Lysandra are proud to bring this collaboration to life, providing another platform for people to appreciate the talents of the Cugelella artists and learn about the stories of Kalkatunga Country.
As sisters and business owners, Alisa and Lysandra understand the challenges and rewards that working closely with family can represent, strengthening their connection to the Cungelella Artists and their story. As four sisters working together to create meaningful art, Alisa and Lysandra were immediately drawn to their works and knew they wanted to join forces.
The limited edition collection by al.ive body is a tribute to the beauty of the Australian environment, and Cungelella Art Group’s artworks are the perfect representation of this. The collaboration between the two groups is an example of how art and nature can come together to create something beautiful and powerful. The collection features artworks that are inspired by the native flora and fauna of Australia, as well as the culture and heritage of the Indigenous people.
What sets this collaboration apart is the fact that it is not just about showcasing the beauty of Australian art and nature, it is also about giving back to the community. As an extension of this partnership, al.ive body have made a $10,000 donation to Cungelella’s chosen charity: 3 sons fitness – a community gym designed to create pathways for youth to build a stronger future.
The al.ive body x Cungelella Art collection features brand new and unique products, with a never done before scent – Wattle and Moss, an aroma that reflects and represents the natural Australian environment.
