There’s a lot of beauty companies out there. There’s also a lot of promises.
‘Buy me now, I’ll erase your wrinkles.’
‘Use me for slimmer thighs.’
‘You’ll never have a blemish again if you buy this.’
Often, these loud claims come with loud price tags.
So, it’s precisely the lack of promises, and the quiet price tags associated with Pink Hibiscus products that I love.
The brain child of Natalie Aroyan, the Pink Hibiscus range is all whipped up in her home kitchen – and that’s part of the reason it smells so yummy. But it’s also part of the reason the products actually work – they are all made with love, and all made to work, sans false guarantee.
When I used the Eyelights Eye Balm the round packaging didn’t proclaim that it’d erase already present lines, and entirely prevent any new ones from forming. It promised to rejuvenate and nurture the delicate skin around my eyes, the window to my soul, and that it did. When I used the Tropical Mango Body Soufflé it didn’t promise anything other than to completely nourish and moisturise my skin. And oh boy did it. Not only did I smell divine, without being overpowering and artificial, I was silky. My skin had never felt better. And it was the same when using the Tropical Coconut Hand Soufflé – my hands were soft, without ever being greasy.
I adored the Replenishing Clay Mask – it was, honestly, the first face mask I have ever used that didn’t cause my skin to break out, or get so incredibly tight and dry it caused pain. Using an Australian organic pastel pink clay base, renowned for its moisturising and toning properties, and the essential oils of organic lavender, geranium and organic sweet orange, the mask left my skin feeling incredibly fresh, but also noticeably revitalised. After using the mask twice a week, after exfoliating, for a few weeks in a row, I really noticed an incredible improvement in the brightness and clarity of my skin.
I must say though, that one of my favourite products in the range is the Body Smoother – a product so incredible it’s no wonder it has a celebrity following. You can use the smoother to exfoliate your body, but it’s also perfect to prepare your body for spray tanning. It’s a unique product in that it not only exfoliates but also moisturises at the same time – due to the regenerative combination of essential oils, combined with ground walnut and papaya extract. An added bonus is that regular usage actually boosts circulation and your entire skin’s texture – and that’s a promise that I can guarantee as well.
With face cleansers for $19, toners for $14, moisturisers for $20, masks for $23 and the incredible body smoother for $24, it’s not hard to see why Pink Hibiscus is a winner – because it’s affordable and actually works. And isn’t that all we’re after from our beauty products?
