Each time a home-grown beauty brand wins an Australian Beauty Award I get a warm fuzzy glow. Can you feel it? It’s the glorious feeling of national pride, Aussie brands taking care of Aussie consumers – and stealing their hearts in the process.
In case you missed the fanfare, an Australian Beauty Award is a big deal. Every year the crème de la crème of the Aussie beauty industry come together to compile a comprehensive list of the best products on the market. They test, they trial and they use their expert knowledge to help craft the beauty cabinet of a lifetime … or at least the year.
While the verdict of these beauty mavens is crucial, equally important is the vote of the people. What you think, because after all, it’s your make-up bag.
To win a stamp of approval from these experts and an adoring public, is such a coup for any brand. So can you imagine winning eight? Niche beauty brand Mirenesse can!
Competing against powerhouse international beauty brands, the wonderfully Australian Mirenesse scooped the pool with an insane eight Australian Beauty Awards! Winner. Literally. And we at Onya couldn’t be more thrilled.
So I thought I’d share with you my favourite of the winners, Sexy Secret Weapon Mascara (RRP $45.95), which has won so many accolades it needs it’s own trophy room.
The centrepiece of the Mirenesse brand, this mascara ticks all of the boxes. It coats your lashes smoothly, yet subtly, lengthening and separating with its jet-black formula. Perhaps most impressive is Sexy Secret Weapon’s staying power, from work through to dinner and then out on the town, one coat sees me through the day.
Shameful aside: This poor mascara had to endure a bout of my princess tears last week and passed with flying colours – not a single run or smudge showed up to my pity party. Miracle.
