Let’s face it—life is expensive (especially if you’re a uni student, but also if you’re not).
Too often I’ve gone out to Woolies with an extensive list of ingredients to cook a complex, fabulous, healthy meal and instead come home with two-minute Mi-Goreng noodles (which are actually pretty fantastic, by the way) and a box of muesli bars. Or, I’ve decided to ‘invest’ in a ‘good’ pair of jeans and instead come home with a $15 pair of Kmart ones that are bound to tear/fade/spontaneously fall to pieces after a week of wear, because I just couldn’t bring myself to spend $120 on those really nice Lee ones from Just Jeans. Too often, I find myself compromising on quality and though it sometimes means there’s an extra digit on my bank balance at the end of the month, I don’t like having to do it.
Now I know there are going to be some of you reading this thinking ‘what is wrong with her? This girl is obviously stingy— $120 is a bargain.’ But then I also know that there will be others thinking ‘Amen, sista-frand!’
And to you I say, amen indeed. The struggle is real—but it’s about to come to an end. Well, for make-up users, at least.
How?
Beauty by Rubi Shoes, that’s how.
Yes, you read correct, as of the end of October, the always fabulous, always on-trend Rubi Shoes will be offering gals like us an incredible range of high-quality cosmetics that you won’t need to sell your organs to pay for. Yay!
But, this is ludicrous, Rubi does shoes!
And now they do make-up, too. Think of it as being provided with everything except your outfit; for years now, Rubi Shoes have been supplying young ladies with shoes, bags, hats, scarves—even sunglasses. And now they’ve even got our make-up needs sorted. Thanks, Rubi.
The exciting new range includes eyeshadow, blush, bronzer and lipgloss, as well as seventeen different shades of lipstick and nineteen of nail polish. There’s also some sweet roll-on perfume (super handy) and make-up wipes (also handy), and even some funky looking nail files and make-up pouches. So basically—they’ve covered everything. Oh and like I said, it’s all affordable.
My pick? The nail polishes. I’d like to think I know a thing or two about nail polish, or at least that I use nail polish often enough for my opinion to count, and so far this metallic gold one from Rubi Shoes is getting two massive, beautifully painted thumbs up from me. The consistency is perfect and most importantly, it’s quick to dry. What’s more, I had my nails painted last Thursday and they still haven’t chipped, not even a bit—and that’s more than I can say for some of my more expensive polishes.
So ladies, let us rejoice—no more compromising on quality in order to save some dollars. Now you (and your bank account) can look fabulous all the time, and I can probably afford a decent pair of jeans.
