In time for the holiday season, Elle Ferguson will be releasing an IGTV series, helping Aussies get the most out of their beauty products.
In the series, Elle reveals her beauty tips and tricks, from using multi-use make-up products, putting on bronzer various ways and even changing up how she applies fragrance. By showing Aussies to work their products to be multi-purpose and longer lasting, Elle encourages everyone to be clever with make-up collections so that beauty lovers don’t have to break the bank for the latest make-up trends.
We chat through some of her beauty tips and tricks, as well as what lessons Elle will take out of 2020, her favourite places in Australia and more.
What’s your best tip or trick for a beauty-lover on a budget?
My biggest trick is buying multi-use products rather than one so you can use one product multiple ways.
My multi-use beauty hacks include making sure you have a palette with a mixture of warm, neutral and deep tones, so that it can triple as a blush, highlighter and eyeshadow.
Lipstick also doubles as an amazing cream blush – which seems weird but trust me!
I’ll also use lipliner as a light eyeliner to give my eyes a subtle pop. Tinted moisturiser is my other multi-use essential.
With three to four products, I can be clever with my make-up and clever with my finances whilst still achieving my every-day look.
Where did your passion for beauty, and the wider industry, come from?
I just LOVE to dress up and play with make-up. I started modelling really early on and my mum was always making clothes so we would put fashion shows on all the time. We were also surrounded by every Vogue magazine you could imagine so the passion I would have to say started from birth.
Afterpay is now available in-store in Priceline and you have $50 to spend — what are you buying?
-
- Revolution Velvet Kiss Lip Crayon ($10.00 or four fortnightly payments of $2.50) – This is one of my favourite multi-use products, you can use this lipliner as a light eyeliner to complete your eye makeup
- Revolution Reloaded Palette Newtrals ($8.00 or four fortnightly payments of $2.00) – This is my go-to for the blush, highlighter and eyeshadow trick I mentioned earlier.
- Real Techniques Expert Face Brush ($22.99 or four fortnightly payments of $5.70) – This brush is great for blending cream or liquid foundation and the bristles are 100% cruelty-free
- Ari by Ariana Grande EDP 100mL ($69.00 or four fortnightly payments of $17.25) – I love a floral and fruity scent! You can make fragrances last longer too by mixing it with unscented moisturiser or Vaseline on your pulse points.
It’s been a relatively wild year. What’s the biggest lesson you’ll take out of 2020?
You really can’t take anything for granted. The small things or the big things. Every opportunity is a blessing.
Where are your favourite places in Australia to travel to, eat at and enjoy?
I love my home town of Bondi and if I want THE BEST breakfast in Sydney it’s Rushi Cafe in Cronulla. Other than that it’s Byron…it has my heart.
