Things are always changing, and sometimes they change for the better! So it is with bags and men. At one time not really that long ago, a lot of men felt uncomfortable wearing a bag on a strap, they seemed to think that there was some unwritten law or taboo against it. To be blunt, they thought it wasn’t manly somehow, that strapped bags were the sole province of women’s purses. And so, those poor, unenlightened fellows had to haul their briefcases around guaranteeing that one of their hands would always be encumbered, a highly inconvenient way to live. Some exceptions were made for backpacks, but no serious businessman would be caught dead wearing one, those were for boy scouts, hikers, and hippies!
Now that men have come around to their senses, or at long last grew tired of always having to use one hand of two to carry their briefcases and duffels around, more and more everyday blokes can be seen wearing a cross body man bag when out and about, revelling in the joy of having both hands free! Now that we have liberated men from the self-imposed restrictions that they had placed on the comfort and utility of wearing a strapped cross-body bag, let’s consider just how convenient they really are!
Comfort – The cross-body bag is specifically designed to be comfortable for you to wear. The shoulder straps are adjustable so you can carry your crossover at a height that feels right. The strap sports a shoulder pad to even out the weight so it doesn’t cut sharply into you when you have a heavy load. And of course, the main point of it all- you have both hands free to use your mobile phone, eat some street food on the go, and whatever else the use of both hands might come in handy for! The days of the awkward underarm briefcase tuck when trying to fish your train pass out of your jacket pocket and go through the turnstile are long gone!
Convenience – While the battle of the sexes has long raged over which half of the human race is smarter, We are afraid we have to hand this one off to the ladies! They figured out a long time ago, like the 1800s long time ago, that wearing a purse on a strap was extremely convenient while men had to haul their carpet bags around in their hands! Now men can enjoy having a bag full of useful things on their person at all times! Your phone, mobile device, keys, wallet, notebooks (both paper and computer!), ballpoint pens, a little box of tissues, a pack of chewing gum, a water bottle, a comb, a newspaper or magazine to read on the train, pretty much any handy thing you might want to grab out of your bag that can help you get through your busy day! Of course, if you carry all of that around all of the time, you are going to need to go with a larger bag, there are lots of options available!
So, men of today, we salute you for strapping on your comfy and convenient crossbody man bags! All hands on deck!
