How much of your life can you pack into a single backpack?
If you’re an adventurer – more than enough. With the right essentials you can spend a whole vacation with no more than a handful of stuff and truly experience what it’s like to live on the road. It’s just the kind of raw, unfiltered experience that a wanderer’s soul needs.
But what kind of items should you put in your backpack to cover all your needs? We’re about to give you a few tips.
Do not forget to bring a camera
No matter where you decide to go, you will want to capture your moments. You do not need to be an Instagram junkie or a pro to do it. Backpacking means a lot of unforgettable moments both related to intact nature and some pleasant time with your fellow backpackers. Pack it now and do not regret it later.
Get a headlamp
There is a thing which can save your life in the wild, but yet it is so simple. A headlamp or head torch can light your way at night. You can avoid the unwanted meeting with wild animals and not come their way. You will be glad you have brought it with you the moment you realize you need to go to the toilet even if it is the middle of the night. The lamp is made of elastic strap and it has a tiny but powerful torch in the middle and it will not take up a lot of space in your backpack. A real must have!
A bag, please!
When you are getting ready to go on a backpacking adventure, what you need to have are the bags to place your belongings. Opt for non-woven bags as they are eco-friendly. They cause no harm to the environment as they are made from the re-usable fabric. They have been proven to possess great durability while carrying around heavy items, their edges do not fray in any foreseeable future, and they are crease resistant. Be aware of the fact that those are not 100% waterproof, but they are splash proof.
A good knife is a must
Not only will you feel like Bear Grylls when you head out into the wilderness, but having a survival knife around you can help you cut ropes, build shelters, open packages and even use first aid kits. Consider packing something durable, like a small OTF knife that can easily be pocketed. An out-the-front (OTF) mechanism will allow the knife to be retracted so you can put it away safely.
Get an international power adapter
Yes, you want to get in touch with the intact nature, but still you cannot drop your phone or camera. What you need is an international power adapter to be able to recharge on the run.
Stay hydrated
You will need to carry around a bottle of water to retain natural hydration of your body. You need to drink at least 3 litres per day as all the hiking will make you crave for more. Find a strong bottle you can fix to your bag or backpack and you will be thankful ever after.
Clothes to choose
If you are thinking about which clothing items to choose and wear, just think in terms of not overdoing it. You will have 4 pairs of socks so choose some which are odour-eliminating and quick-drying. Do not forget spare underwear either. You do not have to take your hiking shoes as those can be quite bulky. Opt for casual trainers and enjoy backpacking. Bring shorts and T-shirts and something to keep you warm if the weather alters quickly.
Backpacking is fun and adventurous but it also means that you need to have some basic things around you if you want to embark on such an activity. Just bring those essentials and be ready to set your sails to wherever you feel like roaming safe and sound.
