Surfing star Layne Beachley, culinary queen Julie Goodwin and ARIA-winning Sally Whitwell are amongst 24 remarkable women launching a free inspirational battle plan for women worldwide.
My 15 Minutes Presents will deliver twenty-four compelling podcasts into thousands of inboxes around the world between 17 and 28 of March. Each audio unleashes 15 minutes of truthful, emotional, thought-provoking and overwhelmingly insightful stories from the presenter detailing a time when life kicked them to the curb or served them a wake-up call, and how they fought back to reach their life goals.
Entrepreneurs, Audrey Thomas and Emma Grey, of the highly acclaimed My 15 Minutes program have now had over 3,000 sign up to follow their work. Their aim for the free series is to combat the spiral of self-doubt and ‘comparison-itis’ that women often enter as they strive to meet society’s expectations and have it all.
“We saw success, and we knew there was a story behind that. We wanted to know what made them say ‘no, I will not let this defeat me’,” says Ms Grey. “Everyone has a story that brings them to their knees or radically alters their path. This is a chance to understand that these well-known and successful women are more like the rest of us than we realise,” she said.
Australia’s first MasterChef, Julie Goodwin, remembers the fifteen minutes that completely changed her life. Midway through the show she had decided to leave as the sacrifice of being away from her children and husband had pushed her to breaking point.
“I said to my husband, ‘I don’t think I can do this. I want to go home. Please take me home’. And my husband said to me: ‘Put your game face on, babe. Go back in there and finish what you started. Stay there, but win the bloody thing!’”
