So, you are moving yet again.
Sometimes it can feel like the moving never ends and you are trapped in a vicious cycle, feelings like this can just lead to more and more stress when it comes to moving… again. You go through all of it, all your clothes, and all your belongings and pack it all up, but that’s not the only thing you need to do when it comes to moving.
No matter how many times you have moved the process is still stressful and long.
Thankfully, there are bond cleaners in Melbourne who can help take that final stress of your shoulders by making sure everything is inspection ready when the real estate agent comes knocking around, but what about everything else? The rest is mostly up to you. If you move around a lot and are looking for some ways to make it a bit easier, here are some tips you can take with you to everywhere you move.
Keep your boxes
No one likes to start out a relationship by thinking about the end.
Luckily, this isn’t a relationship. When you move into wherever you are living now, be sure to collapse the boxes you use and keep them in the back of your wardrobe or under your bed. This will save you time and probably money when it comes to moving again. You won’t have to stress about storage as you will already have the exact amount of boxes you need.
Op shop
You have probably made this trip a hundred times, but each time you move it is the perfect excuse to purge yourself of belongings or clothes that you accumulated that you may no longer need. Going through everything and giving what you no longer need or want to the op shop will save you time and effort when it comes to packing time.
Don’t hoard
If you have items that you haven’t used in a very long time, or that you know you will no longer need, then do not keep them! This probably falls under the category of hauling everything to the op shop but it is so important to get rid of things that you don’t need! Especially if you move regularly, you don’t want to burden yourself with things that are of no use to you.
Minimise ownership
If you are constantly moving and you have heaps of large items like furniture or appliances then that is going to make it harder, and probably more expensive, when it comes down to moving time. If you know that you are going to be jumping between share houses, then you aren’t going to have need for furniture other than what you want in your bedroom.
Avoid pets
As heartbreaking as it is, owning a pet can make it very hard to find a place to live.
Especially if you move around a lot. Not only will it be hard for you, but it will make your furry friends life more stressful if you are constantly uprooting them and taking them away from their different homes.
Have a system
By this point with your frequent moving you should have figured out your own system when it comes to packing and everything else that comes with moving. If you don’t have one, just figure out what works for you, it will make it a whole lot easier when it comes down to moving again.
If you move around a lot, don’t stress, sometimes it just can’t be helped. Take everything as an experience and learn from it, taking each lesson to each new place you live.
