2020 has been an odd year for all of us. Back in January, very few of us could have anticipated that a global pandemic would take the world in its grip and force people around the world to socially isolate in their own homes. Governments from the vast majority of countries issued stay at home orders for a matter of months, encouraging all but essential workers to stay in their own four walls and avoid contact with others. This, of course, has had a profound impact on every aspect of day to day life. Some – such as health and finances – are more serious than others. But some of the smaller aspects of life that it has impacted have left a lasting impression on us in a more trivial manner. Getting used to wearing pyjamas and loungewear on a day to day basis has left many of us feeling lost when it comes to getting back into usual wear and prepping our wardrobes for the coming months. As restrictions begin to be lifted and increasing numbers of us are able to stray back out to meet friends or family members in a socially distanced manner, here are a few wardrobe must haves that you might want to switch into!
Dresses
It’s been a while since many of us got all dressed up. While you might not be heading to any large scale parties or events any time soon, you could still put a nice dress on to go out for dinner or a few drinks with your nearest and dearest. Take a look at Dotti cocktail dresses to get started. These are perfect for any occasion. They’re not too formal. They’re not too casual. They hit the perfect line that suggests you’ve made an effort, but not that you’ve put too much effort in. Pair with heels and a clutch for the perfect look!
Workwear
Many of us have been working on a remote basis for months. This means that, besides the odd video meeting here and there, many of us have been slipping into comfortable pyjamas, tracksuits and other cosy clothes on a day to day basis. But as restrictions are being lifted and workplaces are becoming better prepared to slow and limit the spread of Covid, you may find that you’re being called back in. Workwear is going to make a comeback. So, make the transition as comfortable as possible. Rather than getting straight back into your usual workwear, why not look around for comfortable options. Formal but flat shoes. Smart blouses that have looser collars. Professional trousers that aren’t too tight around the waist. This will prevent a shock to the system and discomfort upon your return to your workplace!
Masks
Of course, it’s still advised that you wear masks as and when necessary. So, this is a pandemic accessory you’re not going to want to wave goodbye to anytime soon. Consider investing in a quality, reusable mask that can be easily washed. There are all sorts of patterns and designs available!
Times are changing pretty quickly, so hopefully, some of the above information will help you in your transition from loungewear back to usual clothing!
