The festive season is right around the corner, and soon your calendar will begin booking up for Christmas parties and get togethers. And it’s only natural that you’ll want to look your best, especially if you’ll be seeing friends and family that you’ve not seen all year. Here are a few ways you can go about it.
Shape up
The festive period is a time where most of us indulge a little, and as a result we can gain some weight and generally not feel our best looks-wise. But it doesn’t have to be the case, up your exercise routine in the next month and not only will you combat the extra calories you’re likely to consume but you could actually improve your physique. Focus on a mixture of cardio to burn calories, and strength training to tone and sculpt the body. Not only is it good for your self esteem, but it’s good for your body in general.
Find the right outfit
Finding the right outfit will always make you feel your best. Something that’s ultra flattering will really help you to feel confident and be ready to get out there and enjoy the party. If you’ve managed to tone up before the event then you might find you’re able to wear something you’d usually have passed up. But regardless of your shape or size, the right clothes will accentuate your best bits and cover anything you’d rather conceal.
Have your hair done
As the old saying goes, ‘your hair is the ballgown you never take off.’ We all know how rubbish a bad hair day makes us feel, and how confident we are when we first step out of the salon so it goes to show how closely tied our hair is with our self esteem. Before your Christmas do, check out the best hair salons near you and have a refresh. You could go with a new colour, length or style or you could just have a subtle change like a trim and some highlights. Experiment with different styles too, adding clip in extensions adds instant length and thickness and using a curling tong can give a really glamorous look. There are lots of tutorials on Youtube to give you ideas.
Have fun with makeup
The festive period is a time of year where you can have fun with makeup. Even if you go with more of a subtle look usually, at Christmas why not go all out? Gold glitter eyes paired with festive red lips, add some shimmer to your cheeks with highlighter and some fluttery false lashes. Again, Youtube has tons of ideas and you don’t need lots of expensive makeup items. There are lots of great pieces you can get at the drugstore, read some reviews and get yourself an eyeshadow palette, a couple of face products and a lipstick or two to play around with.
