This recent pandemic has forced the world into lockdown and seen many businesses close their doors. Whilst we have been able to do without going to bars and restaurants, missing out on our beauty treatments has been a tough sacrifice to make. Despite not being able to the amazing Beauty on Park Street Sydney, I have managed to use a combination of home products and YouTube tutorials to perform a number of beauty treatments at home on my own. I wanted to share with you some of the successes which I have had in terms of beauty treatments, and I must confess that I have had one or two failures.
And so, if you are on lockdown or you are simply trying to save some money, here are some beauty treatments which you can do at home.
Face Mask
There are so many amazing face masks on the market for you to enjoy and when shopping for a face mask it is important to have an idea of what exactly you are looking to get out of it. For example you may be looking to give you pores a cleanse, perhaps you are looking to reduce some inflammation in the face or you may wish to get rid of some red spots. All face masks are made using different beauty products and so there really is a wide variety to choose from. Masks are super simple to apply and they will leave you feeling brand new.
Manicure
You may not be able to apply gelish nails like the salon does but that is no reason to ignore your hands and your cuticles. You can perform a very simple manicure in your own home, all you will need is a small grooming set, some nail polish remover, some exfoliating scrub and some moisturizer, if it is specifically designed for hands then that would be even better. First start by cutting and filling your nails to shape, then with a cuticle tool give that skin a good push down, showing off hose bright white cuticles. Once this is done you can opt to put a protective garlic nail treatment on the nails, colorless and good enough to offer some protection to the nails. Finish off with by giving the hands a good scrub and then once dry, apply some moisturizer.
Facial Massage
You don’t necessarily have to pay top dollar in order to get a face massage, you can in fact do it at home for free. The key to a good massage is knowing which zones to work, and you can easily find a simple guide online. The key areas here are the neck and the temples, practice your style until you are able to really get deep into the tissue.
Waxing
It may not be the most pleasurable of experiences, in fact it is quite horrible to perform, but waxing at home will ensure that you keep those pesky hairs at bay for longer. When you are waxing yourself at home there are a couple of important points to remember, first of all you should always ensure that the wax is hot enough so that it doesn’t gather every bit of hair going, secondly remember to take the hair off in small amounts, and at great speed. Finally, it is fair to say that you aren’t going to be as adept at this as a professional, so be sure to look after your skin before and after the wax, to prevent too much irritation.
