Haircare is one of the most essential parts of a beauty regime, and yet hair products can be pretty expensive. Fortunately, there’s no need to pay over the odds to get those luscious mermaid locks. These natural hair care remedies are both inexpensive and super healthy.
1 . Coconut & banana hair mask
Coconut oil is one of the best natural hair care ingredients out there. It acts as an emollient which builds a seal around the hair; this keeps in moisture and provides extra protection. Unlike many other oils, coconut oil penetrates as opposed to just layering on top of your hair. Bananas are also a fantastic ingredient to achieve beautiful hair. The natural oils and potassium will prevent breakage and keep your hair looking radiant. Mix coconut oil and bananas in a bowl until they are blended in a nice thick paste. Apply the mask to damp hair, and massage through from roots to tips. Leave the mask on your hair for around twenty mins before you rinse it off. Coconut oil is also an awesome natural skin care ingredient.
2. Yogurt & honey hair mask
Yoghurt is an excellent moisturizer meaning it’s perfect for frizz-prone hair. It also has antifungal properties, so it will keep your scalp healthy. Honey works to seal in moisture, it strengthens your hair and delivers a gorgeous shine. Honey is full of antioxidants, which help to protect your hair from free radicals. Mix honey and yogurt together and massage into damp hair. Again, leave the mask on for at least twenty minutes before you wash it out. You could also try a moroccanoil restorative hair mask.
3. Green tea rinse
Green tea is absolutely packed with antioxidants, meaning it’s another fab ingredient to try on your hair. An alternative tea to use for a hair rinse is oolong tea. It originates in China and is a cross between green and black tea. The making of oolong tea involves a special oxidation process, meaning that its antioxidant properties are even more potent. Both of these teas can improve your hair if you drink them, or use them for a hair rinse. Simply brew yourself some tea in a large bowl and soak your hair inside. Massage the tea solution into your hair, and leave in for about 30 mins.
4. Olive Oil
Olive oil is a life-saver for damaged or frizzy hair, it’s the perfect natural conditioner and will leave your hair looking shiny and smooth. Like coconut oil, it’s an emollient. Olive oil can also help your hair to replenish its natural oils. Over shampooing can mean that our hair loses natural oils over time.
5. Avocado Oil
For sleek and soft hair, avocado oil is just what you need. It’s packed with potassium and vitamins E, A and D. The oil won’t weigh down your tresses, and it helps to add nutrients to your hair follicles. Massage the oil into your hair as a leave-in conditioner. If you prefer, mash up a bowl of avocados and make a hair mask.
